Root Of Beauty Skin Company is a cozy, rustic spa nestled in the heart of Jefferson, Iowa—the small farm town where I was born, raised, and proudly returned to build my dream. The name reflects both my personal roots in this community and my approach to skincare: focusing on the foundation of healthy, natural beauty. Just like anything that grows, beauty starts at the root—with proper care, knowledge, and consistency.

Meet the Face Behind Root Of Beauty
My name is Madilyn Van Pelt, and I’m a licensed esthetician with 3 years of experience in helping clients feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I’m also a licensed permanent makeup artist through Pinpoint Academy, a certified makeup artist, and hold certifications in microdermabrasion, as well as product knowledge and retail for both GlyMed and Bioelements.
I became an esthetician because I’ve struggled with acne-prone skin my whole life, and I know firsthand how frustrating and overwhelming skincare can be. That personal journey inspired me to help others find routines that truly work for them—and, most importantly, to help them feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. I’ve always had a love for the beauty industry, and even though I grew up a farm girl, I decided to take the leap and follow that passion.
I specialize in all things skincare, natural beauty, and client education. I love meeting new clients, chatting all day, and creating a space where you feel completely comfortable. I listen closely to your needs, tailor every treatment to your goals, and always look for ways to keep growing and improving—because I’m never satisfied with “just good enough.” At Root Of Beauty, my mission is simple: to help you feel your best, inside and out.
